“THE GET ROCKED SHOW”

BRINGS BACK THE GLITZ, GLAM AND FERVOUR OF SEVENTIES ROCK

Les Gock and Rick Lum of legendary band Hush join The Choirboys’ Mark Gable to celebrate some of Oz Rocks’ most fun moments.

The excitement, energy and sheer extravagance of Australian seventies rock is back with THE GET ROCKED SHOW playing a limited run of live shows starring original Hush members, guitar wiz Les Gock and bass master Rick Lum celebrating the colour and zany thrill of one of Australia’s biggest glam rock chart-toppers. The Get Rocked Show also celebrates the heavy rock acts they shared the hard road with, such as Stevie Wright, AC/DC, The Angels, Rose Tattoo and more.

Joining Gock and Lum, The Choirboys’ lead singer Mark Gable takes on vocal duties for The Get Rocked Show, joined by some of Australia’s finest musicians. Playing their own multi platinum selling hits and the songs of their peers, they tell the stories of their times on the road while living in the seventies, offering a real and personal look at what went on backstage and beyond.

“One of the defining moments of Australia’s 1970s pop legacy was undoubtedly Hush performing ‘Bony Moronie’ on the ABC-TV pop show Countdown,” according to The Encyclopedia of Australian Rock and Pop. Hush was not only Australia’s flashy hi-jinks response to the glam rock movement coming from England, it was one of the world’s first multi-cultural rock bands. Stack-heeled boots and satin jumpsuits met Chinese embroidered coats and heavy blues-inspired boogie to create a series of Top 40 hits from 1973 to 1977 and firmly earn Hush a place in the history of Oz rock.

The defining sound of Hush was Gock’s fiery guitar and Lum’s pulsating bass partnered with Chris “Smiley” Pailthorpe’s sturdy drumming and lead singer Keith Lamb’s perfectly contrived brand of lovable deviant with a distinctive voice that helped songs like “Get Rocked”, “Walking”, “Glad All Over” and of course “Bony Moronie” race up the charts and make them a constant fixture on Countdown. While the classic line-up went their separate ways in the late seventies, they reformed in 2006 for the Countdown Spectacular tour.

The Get Rocked Show is about Hush, who were there at the birth of Australian Rock, who helped pave the way for those who came after. With Mark Gable’s voice the perfect fit for songs by Hush and other Australian greats, he also brings The Choirboys’ pub band vibe to celebrate the dirty musical deeds of the iconic bands led by such charismatic and menacing singers as Stevie Wright, Bon Scott, Skyhooks, Angry Anderson and Doc Neeson.

Fans can expect to hear many of the great rock and pop hits of the seventies.

The Get Rocked Show is loud and live, flashy and passionate, and above all it’s a lot of crazy fun. It’s definitely time to Get Rocked!
